Half simulation

Half the volume of the classic course with the same feel. Gyms use it as an entry-level event, a recurring benchmark between bigger sims, or a second option on the same day so beginners and racers share the floor.

How it runs

  • Eight legs: 4 × (1 km run + one station).
  • Short enough to run two waves of a class in an hour, long enough to be a proper test.

Divisions and placeholder loads

These loads are placeholders chosen to be easy to plate in a typical gym. Set your own in the planner; sled loads include the sled.

How many athletes fit

With the default 6 lanes and a heat every 6 minutes from 09:00. “Done by” adds 45 minutes to the last start — a planning assumption for a typical gym athlete on this course (25–45 min), not a measured figure. Pairs and relay teams take one lane each.

Judging this format

  • Wall balls carry the most no-reps; put your most experienced judge there.

Variations

  • Run it the week before a full sim as a rehearsal for your judges and your timing set-up.
  • Swap the sled for farmers carry if you have no sleds.
